The New Hongcheng Big Market Project is the first batch of major key projects in the 12th Five-Year Plan. The project is located south of Changnan Avenue and along the east bank of the Ganjiang River. The total planned land area is about 2,300 acres and the total construction area is about 4 million square meters. There are five functional areas: market trading area, business supporting area, commodity circulation area, leisure and cultural area, and life service area, with a total investment of 12 billion yuan.
